What’s trending in Weddings

It’s your day, your way

At The Yorkshire, we’ve seen a thing or two when it comes to weddings over the years and the team are always at the forefront of current wedding trends. From unusual requests to the simple things that become popular, here are some of our thoughts on current trends we have noticed in the world of weddings.

The more the merrier

Since Covid restricted our social scene we have noticed that couples are choosing to invite more guests than ever before, ensuring that everyone makes up for lost time as they say their nuptials. Budgets do not seem to be increasing to accommodate more guests, with more and more celebrations scrapping the formal sit down wedding breakfast in favour of a more informal affair with more guests.

Informal food choices

Whilst the traditional three-course wedding breakfast is not going out of fashion anytime soon, we have seen an increasing trend of couples opting for less traditional menu choices with gourmet burgers and chips with chilli jam and chorizo being swapped for the previously popular chicken choice, or the beer-battered haddock with minted mushy peas another favourite of modern brides selecting more bistro choices than the traditional wedding breakfast.

Another popular trend is the hog roast. With drama and showmanship of the presentation of a roasted hog combined with the cost-effectiveness of feeding more guests with one meal choice, it has become a winner for many choosing a more informal wedding day.

At The Yorkshire, we pride ourselves on creating the most perfect bespoke menu for the couple tying the knot. So, whatever your menu choices, favourite meals or budget, we can tailor your menu to suit you.
